The Media and Public Confidence - Le Touquet in Northern France 2004

Journalists themselves, as well as press barons, are anxious; the confidence that the public used to have in them is crumbling; but also crumbling – and the French press is well aware of this – are the circulation figures; how can the quality media regain public support, in itself a condition of a living democracy? do they have something to learn from the crises that are striking the media world?

These are some of the questions which attracted both media professionals and representatives of the public to meet in the attractive seaside resort of Le Touquet in Northern France on the 15th and 16th of October 2004.
